Personally, I find that the most gratifying work on a piece begins after you have memorized it.
When memorized, it has takes residence in your head and felt in your heart. Memorizing a piece means that you have gotten to know the piece so well that you will
just remember it. When you remember it, it becomes your lived reality. Your lived realities becomes MUSIC in your life.
How great is that!
