Mid Autumn Festival coming up! CREATIVE CREATES Easy Peasy Konnyaku Jelly for kiddos.
Ingredients: 800ml water 200ml water "natural colouring" from fruits/ vegetables (set aside) 10gm konnyaku jelly powder 200gm fine sugar /caster sugar (adjust sweetness to yr liking) Random fruits of your liking
Method: 1. Bring 800ml water to a boil. 2. Mix konnyaku powder with sugar and sprinkle into boiling water by the spoonsful. Stirring after each 2 spoons. 3. Let the mixture boil for 5 minutes. 4. Turn off the heat. 5. Add remaining 200ml water of your "natural coloring", stir. 6. Pour jelly mixture into prepared moulds with random "cut" fruits. 7. Let cool down to room temperature and put in fridge to chill before unmoulding. *To unmould, just pry using a toothpick.

What Kiddos learn- 1. Weight and measurements as they cook with you. 2. Addition & Subtraction, as you 'play', 'sing' & eat with them. Teach them counting. How? 1 jelly, 1 piece, 2 pieces, half , quarter. Add a little tune -Singalong as you stir concoction with your child. Sing to the tune "Here we go round the mulberry bush" Here we go round, we stir and stir, We stir and stir, We stir and stir, Here we go round, we stir and stir, To make our Konnyaku Jelly. 3. Texture/ Sensory Learning. How does it smell? What does it taste like? How does it feel? 4. Fine Motor Skill. Detaching jelly from mould.
